Welcome to St. Augustine's Church

We are a diverse and friendly congregation seeking to serve Christ in our community with biblical teaching and traditional Anglican faith, practice and worship. Our parish falls within the Diocese of Birmingham and our Patron is the Bishop of Birmingham.

Our amateur choir of exceptional ability sings twice every Sunday, maintaining a choral repertoire that extends from Palestrina to Oliver Messiaen.

Our church, which is open daily for prayer, is a Victorian landmark with a sumptuous interior, and is situated in the heart of Birmingham's main hotel district.

News and Updates from St. Augustine's Church

  • Roof Work & Alarm - The church is having it's roof repaired after a number of lead thefts in late 2011. In an effort to guard against further acts of theft, we have had a roof alarm fitted which is activated as soon as someone goes on the roof. Security personnel and the police are automatically contacted and will be on-site withing a few minutes. Meanwhile discrete CCTV cameras record activity on the roof for later viewing. Officers of the church are also included in the automated alert and this includes the Churchwardens.

To hear what the alarm sounds like, please use the audio bar below...

It is obviouisly regrettable that we have had to resort to having an alarm fitted, but we cannot afford to withstand the financial loss as a result of the theft of many thousands of pounds worth of lead from the roof and the potential damage to the interior of the church that this entails.
